Lalbagh Palace was built by the Holkar Dynasty, and is situated in Indore, Madhya Pradesh, India. The Holkar family resided in the palace up to 1978. After the death of Tukojirao Holkar(III), his granddaughter Usha Raje established a trust and looked after the estate. Later, the former Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh Arjun Singh brought it under control of State Government. The palace was home to the powerful maratha Holkar Dynasty. Spread over 76 acres of property, the construction of the 45-room palace happened in three phases. It is built in the Italian Renaissance Revival architecture style and once had a 20-acre rose garden, while its main gates are modelled after those at the Buckingham Palace, by Triggs of Calcutta. Paneling, bronze work, decorative plaster, stone work and furniture for the palace were provided by H.H. Martyn & Co. of Cheltenham, England. Rajwada, also known as the Holkar Palace or Old Palace, is a historical palace in Indore that was constructed by the Holkars of the Maratha empire around 2 centuries ago. An example of the architecture of the time, the palace is a 7 story structure that is placed near the Krishnapura Chhatri. The structure has gained the attention of tourists due to its size and age. The construction of the palace was started by Malhar Rao Holkar, the founder of Holkar Dynasty, in the year 1747 A.D. This structure is placed in Khajuri Bazaar, near the center of the city. The palace has the Shiv Vilas Palace (New Palace) on the right and faces a garden with a statue of Maharani Ahilya Bai Holkar, fountains, and an artificial waterfall.

Jahaz Mahal (lit. 'Ship Palace') is located next to Hauz-i-Shamsi in Mehrauli, Delhi. It was so named, since its reflection (illusion) in the surrounding reservoir looked like a ship floating on a lake. It is inferred to have been built during the Lodi dynasty (1452–1526) as a pleasure resort, Sarai or an inn. One reason for building the Jahaj Mahal retreat was to provide transit accommodation as a Sarai or (inn) to the large number of pilgrims from Afghanistan, Arabia, Iran, Iraq, Morocco and Turkey who came to Delhi to visit the many Muslim shrines. Another version is that it was built as a retreat for the emperors, Akbar Shah II and Bahadur Shah II and their families, during the summer months, away from the heat and dust of Delhi. Its construction is dated between 1451 AD and 1526 AD, before Babar's invasion and the beginning of Mughal rule in Delhi.

Rehwa Society is a not-for-profit foundation, working with weavers in Maheshwar, Madhya Pradesh. Established in 1978, by Richard and Sally Holkar as a weaver's society. It is known for its Maheshwar sarees, in silk and cotton. The weaving history at Maheshwar, dates back to Maharani Ahilyabai Holkar, the ruler of princely Indore State from 1765 to 1795. She brought in weavers from Surat in Gujarat and Mandu, Madhya Pradesh and established them at Maheshwar, to weave special nine-yard saris (Navvari saris) for the ladies of royal household, and turban fabric. The tradition was revived, when the Rehwa Society was founded in 1978, by Richard Holkar of Holkar dynasty and his wife Sally Holkar. Using a grant from the Indian Central Welfare Board, they started with eight looms and eight women weavers from the local Meru community. Khajrana Ganesh Temple is a Hindu temple complex, situated in Khajrana area of Indore in the Indian state of Madhya Pradesh, India. The main temple in the complex is dedicated to Lord Ganesha. It was built by Maharani Ahilyabai Holkar of the Holkar Dynasty. This temple was built in 1735 by Maharani Ahilyabai Holkar of the Holkar dynasty, who retrieved the idol of god Ganesha from a well where it had been hidden to keep it safe from the Mughal ruler Aurangzeb.[1] The devotees circle around the temple and tie a thread to pray to Lord Ganesha for the successful completion of their work.
